Make a day of it in Dormont!
Situated in the cozy Borough of Dormont, Bridal Maven neighbors numerous small businesses offering delicious bites and beverages, handmade gifts, and unique experiences that you and your bridal brigade will love. So when you make your appointment at Bridal Maven, why not make a day of it in Dormont? Here are some of my favorite hidden gems that you’ll find right on Potomac Avenue, just a leisurely stroll from our storefront.
Beyond Bedtime Books: This independently owned bookstore offers a wide variety of new and gently used books, as well as books that are rare and out-of-print. You can casually browse the shelves in the warm, inviting storefront, and if you’re looking for a specific title, friendly staff will place an order for you. They also have an awesome kids’ section for little ones.
Hollywood Theater: This iconic movie house started out as Murray’s Bowling & Billiards in 1925, and then it became a silent film theater in 1926. The building survived multiple closings, re-openings, and renovations to remain a staple of Pittsburgh culture to this day. You can catch new releases as well as special screenings of classic films at this historic theater.
NailChic: Manicures, pedicures, facials, lashes… NailChic does it all. You can make an appointment at this local mani-pedi bar to get glammed up before trying on dresses at Bridal Maven, or afterwards for some post-shopping pampering. NailChic even offers a complimentary glass of wine with every nail service!
Dormont Florist: If you’re stopping by Bridal Maven, your wedding will likely be top-of-mind the day you’re in Dormont. So why not visit the family-owned and operated (and Burgh Brides Approved!) Dormont Florist? They offer gorgeous floral arrangements for all occasions and may be the perfect fit for your big day, or any of the special events leading up to it.
Right across the T-tracks from us, Potomac Station is the perfect place to grab light, on-the-go breakfast or lunch. Potomac Station has bagels, wraps, sandwiches, and tasty pastries. Pair that with a unique beverage like their Mayan Mocha or Cinnamon Bun Latte, and you’ll be ready to take on the day.
Founded and owned by lifelong Pittsburghers, Molly’s Pizza & Chicken offers pizza, wings, and mouth-watering Broaster Chicken. With homemade sauces, made-daily dough, and all-fresh produce, you can’t go wrong at Molly’s.
Fredo’s is known for their superb cevapi — a Balkan beef sausage delicacy — and their famous Godfather sandwich, but the possibilities here are endless. You can make your own sandwich with any combo of fresh meat, cheese, bread, and toppings in the shop.
The Dor-Stop Restaurant has been serving up homestyle breakfast and lunch since 1986. You can’t go wrong with a stack of their World Famous Hot Cakes, their Corned Beef Reuben with Potato Pancakes, or really, any dish from this beloved Pittsburgh spot.
Originally launched in 2020 as a pop-up, Moonlit Burgers’ trendy Dormont location serves LA-style smashburgers, veggie burgers, fried chicken, cocktails, and local beer. They’ve also got Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream — a Pittsburgh favorite!
An excellent spot for lunch or dinner, New Saigon offers traditional Vietnamese and fusion food. With a dozen different types of pho, bento boxes, and more, New Saigon’s menu has delicious dishes for everyone.
Another great lunch and dinner spot, Thai Spoon serves up authentic Thai cuisine. Their menu features flavorful noodles, soups, curries, and a number of specialty dishes for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike.
Paid parking lots in addition to the metered spot on the street. All lots and Meters can be paid through the Meter Feeder app!
